Age of Empires II: DE – Lords of the West is here, and it hates swear words
Eld of Empires Deuce: Definitive Edition has just received its starting time expansion since it released at the end of 2019. Lords of the Rebecca West adds in two more civilizations – the Burgundians and the Sicilians – along with trio fully-voiced campaigns, solidifying its place as one of the most popular RTS games more or less.
The developers have also released patch up notes for the update incidental to the new content, which includes inside information regarding the new civilizations, but also a clustering of free changes and tweaks as well. To the highest degree notably, Age of Empires II is getting a more targeted profanity filter.
Instead of just yeeting the entire sentence into the sun, the filter will now just blank taboo (or **** out) the specific banned words. It's a unexpected change, as this could potentially seem like a morsel of a step back. Eliminating entire sentences, while unerect to more collateral filtering, arguably represents a firmer, direct approach to spoken communication temperance, as one could still figure out a banned word by constructing a context from the words around it, making this less effective. However, we'll have to see how this plays call at the game once the update's live.
Other changes climax in Maculatio 44725 let in updates to existing campaigns to replace generic units with Burgundian or Sicilian ones where appropriate (such as in the Joan of Arc campaign), and building blueprints can no longer be exploited in place of actualized scouting forces. It seems you could order down the maraca of a building, but non finish it, and use it to reveal the terrain around you. Now, blueprints no longer birth their own transmission line of ken.
Between in real time and February 8, there is likewise a new year celebration event running in game as well. Much like the Christmas event at the finish of last twelvemonth (weaponised snowmen!), this community event volition enclose a new set of icons, mods, and elevate personal effects.
Check unsuccessful the full list of changes, tweaks and the updated list of on-going issues away reading the full patch notes.
